AI Text Generators → Writing Generators · ProWritingAid · Est. 2012
A writing coach that goes beyond grammar, with detailed reports on style, pacing and overused words, plus a lifetime license.
01 — Overview
ProWritingAid checks grammar, but its real strength is deep editing reports. It flags repeated words, sentence variety, readability, pacing, sticky sentences and clichés, which is why novelists and long-form writers like it more than quick checkers.
It integrates with Word, Google Docs, Scrivener and the browser, and newer AI tools such as Rephrase and Sparks suggest alternative wording. A rare lifetime license is available as a one-time purchase, although the annual price rose sharply in 2026.
Vinggle verdict Excellent for authors and anyone who wants to learn from their editing reports. The free plan's 500-word limit makes it hard to judge on a full document.
